Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Claire Bartle and I am an independent family history researcher and genealogist.
I am located in the south-east of England and specialise in research in this area. I am based near Croydon and as such am well placed to travel to libraries and archives in this part of the country, particularly family history research centres based in Central London, but I can undertake online genealogy research for all of England and Wales.
I have 12 years’ experience as a family history researcher and genealogist and began tracing my own family history back in my late teens. I now have a tree that goes back over 20 generations on some branches and has helped me to find cousins that I didn't even know I had.
I moved on to tracing my husband’s family tree after our marriage, as well as helping to trace the ancestry of a number of friends and colleagues. I am also a member of the Society of Genealogists. A small project I began as a teenager has now turned into a lifelong obsession.
In recent years, the desire to learn about ones ancestors has become increasingly popular, particularly with the growth of online records. A lot of people want to learn about their family history but are unsure where to begin and can feel overwhelmed by the potential scale of the project. Tracing your family history can be a time consuming process and finding the time to research can be difficult.

Everybody has different objectives in mind when researching their family history. I am willing to discuss your particular requirements in an initial free consultation and tailor my research to fit.
